What is Yamaguchi Prefecture’s “Family Yamagaku Day”? “Family Yamagaku Day” is a day when children attending public schools in Yamaguchi Prefecture (elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, and special needs schools) can think about, plan, and carry out experiential and research learning and activities outside of school (at home or in the community) with their families on days other than holidays.

● It is a new way of learning and resting that creates a system for families to spend their holidays together.
● It can be used by applying in advance to coincide with parental leave.
● Since it is an independent learning activity outside of school, not attending school will not count as an absence, and will be treated the same as “suspension of attendance, etc.”

The applicable dates vary depending on your area.
